Chatham Islands Anniversary Day
The Chatham Islands celebrate their provincial holiday on this day. They are named after the first ship that landed, the HMS Chatham. Under captain Broughton it reached the islands on 29 November 1791 and reported British claim of ownership. Since then, this day at the end of November is commemorated with this holiday.
