Artfully decorated wooden wagons are presented in a parade on these Japanese holidays. They often look like shrines or temples. The wagons are decorated with flowers and greeting cards for the wellbeing of the ghosts living in the wagons. The amount of time needed for building and decorating of the wagons is comparable with the big carnival wagons in Germany.
